Surely those who are studying foreign languages, heard or even experienced the so-called "immersion method". In most cases it involves language practice without the possibility of communication in their own language. They are mostly exchange students living, for example, in families in the country of the target language.
Or another modification of such "immersion" - to surround themselves with only information in the target language. Ie - books, news, transfers, stickers with words, etc. There are also numerous apps for smartphones that help in the form of a game, for example, to improve your vocabulary.
And, of course, in varying degrees, each of these methods! And all of them I have experienced personally when I got my first V/o and then when, in particular, to work with the Cuban Embassy had to learn Spanish.
However, each of these methods still requires effort, and sometimes considerable. In addition, it is understood that in parallel students will pore over and learn the rules of grammar, conjugation of verbs, etc. Agree, the prospect is not very cheerful?! But in the accelerated pace of life in metropolis and continuous time pressure - and even a luxury.
Well... a little over a year ago, I wanted to learn another language. This time the choice fell on the Portuguese. Or rather, his more "exotic" variant is Brazilian Portuguese. But, since time is valuable to me, and even correctly dispensing, I realized that to fit in your schedule and even diverse rote learning and/or language courses just will not be able to physically.
the Solution came by itself, during a routine romp around the house and parallel with this view the "one eye open" a movie. Well where else can you get such a variety of linguistic material, as in the Brazilian soap operas?! Of course, those in Russia have never shown and don't have Russian dubbing (good-bye, "Slave Izaura"!) ;)
And my choice fell on a Comedy fiction series vampire's Kiss (O beijo do vampiro). The first couple of days of viewing was a strong feeling that the brain just melted and is bursting at the seams - so unusual, though still familiar (because of Spanish language) was heard from the screen...
Other people would probably already gave up, but I still wondered what would happen. Eventually curiosity outweighed!. the
First, I identified myself to the main dialects (Carioca and paulistano), spoken by actors, and it immediately became easier... If the Carioca dialect (especially clean - no regional impurities) and to this day makes me listen more closely, then it is simply a dialect is perceived on the machine...
followed by a stage of the active vocabulary and the following series of twenty was almost completely rewritten in a notebook with words.
And then, after a month and a half since the beginning of the experiment, began the most fun... I didn't write anything down, not listening, just doing something different, and the background on the tablet was around the next series. That's funny, already at that time, I not only understood about half (the rest was context clues), but easily could repeat listening to the segments. And by the end of the series the level of understanding was already 75-80 percent... that can not but rejoice, because all this is completely without tension, without the tedious cramming (Portuguese grammar is not opened even once!), and most importantly - with a huge portion of drive and passion! ;)
Now the same method watch the sixth series, in parallel, communicate on forums with native speakers, many of whom simply do not believe that I did not learn the language on any specials.courses.
everything else, seeing this result, my friend also decided to try it. While you wait, she'll succeed ;)
the Most important thing that should be remembered by anyone who teaches languages (and recommend it to all teachers and Tutors) – don't be afraid to start talking! Let mistakes, let Your speech be like "My yours do not understand" - just saying! Knowledgeable people are well aware that they never said is correct. If you want to immediately make a "5+", then do not avoid any errors or strong frustration...
And I say this not just because, in addition to the nearly 10-year-old psychologist, for sixteen years I worked as a tutor of a foreign language. And over the years repeatedly met both.
of Course, someone the above method may seem questionable or even absurd, but trust me - it really works! And I'm sure that with its help you can easily learn more than one foreign language!
PS
Psychological barrier to language learning can be successfully removed, e.g., with the use of Metaphoric Associative Cards (MAC).
P. P. S.
On the 10th March for my consultation with MAC is doing the action "Month of generosity".
