Hello. My name is Ilya Novikov, I a practicing psychologist. The author of the book "Transactional analysis – Rhetorical game". She is now moderated.
Transactional analysis, as I understand it, is the psychoanalytic model, which was developed by American psychologist, doctor and writer Eric Berne.
Today I want to talk a little bit about this area.
to Begin, best with THE prerequisites that relate to human needs. Classification of Bern has some differences from the classic pyramid Maslow, and in some ways her match.
so, let's begin.
First need – Touch the hunger or Thirst of tactile sensations.
it All starts from childhood. Child is a very important concern and touch. The mother hands him the personification of divinity. It is important that the mother takes the child in his arms, whether established the contact between them, what is this contact all of this will affect the rest of his life. The importance of breastfeeding. At this stage of development of the child can occur "delay", which is called fixation. If the child does not meet fully these needs in adulthood, he is likely to drink or smoke to "kill" some of your fear or anxiety. It's called oral fixation.
in fact, the dynamics of the game "Alcoholic" based on oral deprivation. What does it mean? One tries not to drink, restrained, and then breaks down. It seems that he really is not enough "use" in order to remove their problems and dissatisfaction.
now remember how to look like beer bottles. Has bottle shape with two bulges – "tit" and one "nipple". Bottle 0.33 l from the Cola also resembles a nipple.
cigarette Smoking is, in fact, also sucking smelly nipples. When a person smokes, it calms down, falls into a "kind of trance", though it is in the child's condition, which stuck to his chest.
need – a Thirst for recognition. Remember the phrase: "I am nobody, and my name in any way". In fact, this expression is taken from one of the parables, but people say it in plain text in relation to themselves, thereby losing the remnants of his self-esteem and devaluing himself completely.
This is the problem of the little man. I remember once "Gogol's" the overcoat. For the hero of the story buying a new overcoat becomes a worldwide problem.
So where does the "problem recognition?" Also from the childhood. This so-called "learned helplessness".
the Child tried it – got on his hands, the second, the third is again received. He realized that he was "not given", he cannot, he is not worthy. His desires are suppressed by the Parent. In fact, the Parent pursues the Child, does not allow him to realize his desires, to get what he wants most. It also becomes delay "brake" in its development and is called phallic fixation. Now he will do anything to prove that he deserves to live as he wants, playing unconstructive games, the brightest of them – "Why don't you ...Yes, but...", the prize which reinforces the existential position of "all want to control me" because "impose" their advice.
In history there are many examples of famous people with the problem of recognition. Take Adolf Hitler – failed artist, loser. His inferiority complex has flared into a superiority complex. His goal was to conquer the world, destroy the world, since people did not want to admit it.
And then, if it took the whole world, as the Emperor Nero, who was forced to watch the tragedy with their participation, forced to walk in their own gallery.
What did he do? He projected his inferiority and "unrecognized" on the collective psyche of the nation. He began to suggest that Germany should be the number one country that this nation is the best, their ancestors were the most powerful – was organized expeditions to search for artifacts that it has something to prove. It all ended in disaster for the nation and for himself.
Third need Structural hunger or thirst organize your time.
I Remember once the line is from a song by V. Tsoi: "He who has a clear life plan, is unlikely to think about something else."
If human life is "not established", is not ordered, then it is a feeling of anxiety, existential fear. Fear of emptiness and loneliness.
At the other extreme are people who can perfectly arrange the time. This is the most highly paid members of society. As for activities – it's top managers, politicians, leaders. They have the status of active Adult and well developed Parental control.
as for entertainment – it's the artists and actors who collect stadiums. Also this is all kinds of inventors, speakers, lecturers, guides, etc.
These people are spontaneous, they have a lot of freedom. They have a well-developed Free Child. To understand what a Free Child is to recall the tale of "the Kid and Carlson".
Kid is a Fit Kid, "adaptive", which may not attract the attention of busy parents. Carlson represents the Free child who does what he pleases without any constraint. The free Child is characterized in that it can interact with the Parent state-I of the other person and things easily. The free Child is the aspect of personality that K. G. Yung would call the "Trickster archetype". A free child is able to cheat, to swing, to hook, to avoid the wrath and punishment of Parent, to carry out with it "educational work" and at the same time to follow his own desires and interests. So Carlson is an imaginary friend of the Kid, embody the "shadow" side of his condition I Am.
Fourth need – Meaning hunger. The thirst for meaning, Jung is analogue: the telos –the goal.
In every period of life has its own purpose and its meaning: "Time to gather stones and throw" is written in the old Testament.
At the end of his life Burne also wrote: "the Art of living is to walk the earth Prince, scattering ripe apples, and the art of dying is to eat their Apple and to say to others: "Enjoy what I left you".
most of the topic studied Viktor Frankl in his Logotherapy. (Logos is translated as meaning a reasonable way, understanding) Among critically ill people survive other things being equal, those who have left the meaning of life. Meaning and purpose is what should lead to personal transformation. Therefore, every person better to understand the meaning of your life, its direction and ultimate goal.
