Want to talk to you about security. About your security.
As you know, I'm very honest in social networks. If you want, this is my “chip”, my personal brand – call it what you like. I “live” a psychologist who can “touch” - a man who calls a spade a spade, has a clear position on many issues and is not shy pretty hard to defend it. I share my personal experiences (not always positive), did not dissociate himself from the readers of professional commitments (in some approaches, the psychologist needs to remain a mystery for the customer) and always answer all your queries.
I write promotional articles on the psychology of relationships designed to help a wide range of people to understand what's happening to them. I acquaint readers with the basic terms and concepts, answer common questions, try to help looking for direction for a possible solution.
of Course, I wrote to the PM a huge number of people – with intimate details, personal stories, often upside down. Well, OK, I'm a psychologist – all my profiles, at a glance, my education verified and confirmed by well-known professional sites and communities, I have to tape friends and many longtime subscribers. And yet.
When you are bringing your personal story to a stranger, please be careful. If you're desperate, you're especially vulnerable. Do not trust everything that is written. Many believe that, without naming names in conversation or distorting some baseline data, they're safe. This is not so. The person with psychological education will not be difficult to “assume” your profile in the manner of the conversation, the characteristics of the flow of information, emotions, needs and reactions. The same applies to fraud. In any case, you are vulnerable.
Check education, reviews, content, and personal values someone open the soul. Members of the LGBT community know particularly well, what could be the consequences of thoughtless actions. Even if you have nothing to hide and you are the most that neither is a “normal people”, think carefully before you open up a beautiful picture in social networks. All is not gold that glitters. Not everyone who calls himself an expert, so is. Psychologists (and professionals in other fields) are people too – with cockroaches, characteristics, human qualities, preferences and beliefs.
Yes, in theory there is a “academic standard of the profession" when the psychologist is Mature enough not to carry their own projections on the customer and as neutral as possible to respond to the obvious triggers. In practice, it is not necessary to go to the psychologist with the position “to Azamat" if you want to discuss your status "child-free”. Not all “Orthodox” psychologists LGBT-friendly. Not all the ‘pravdorub” may work with clients who are victims of abuse. Everyone has a preferred specialization – an area where the psychologist most comfortable and where he, as a consequence, the most effective for the client. Psychologists do not prescribe medication and do not put diagnoses on a photo. This involved psychiatrists and psychotherapists, and only at personal meeting. The list goes on.
I Have over the last week 3 of the client with the consequences ‘cocoteraie” from the unknown gurus on the Internet. In history – bullying, trolling, stalking and other exotic “animals”. As a bonus, hurt pride and twisted mind, not to mention wasted money and time.
Fully open before the interlocutor can only at the official session when you are confident in the quality of offered services. Even if you communicate via messenger or Skype, you have to understand who you are dealing with. Study the profile of a specialist, read the posts and articles in professional groups, pay attention to the quality of review and communication. Choose those whose attitude to life is closer to you. Examine pre-existing approaches and, for God's sake, ask questions! You carefully choose a doctor before giving him any physical problems. So why are you so casual about your mental health?
