Worse disgust – insensitivity to disgust. A couple of thoughts about that.
If a person is insensitive to its borders, to the speed of approximation to saturation, as a consequence, he is faced with contempt as a signal about the poisoning, toxicity, indigestion, excess.&the Aversion can be tested as with overeating – when eating too much or is toxic, or fast approaching, when there is no opportunity to review, adjust the speed, the intensity of the contact. Also, a quick approximation can be a signal of deeper protection – suppression of disgust. When disgust is so much that it becomes unbearable, you can simply disable sensitivity – to become omnivorous. This gives you the ability to swallow food, “swallow” people without feeling discomfort. As a consequence, disrupted the process of assimilation, i.e. swallowed, it is impossible to learn, which leads to repetition – remember here the Zeigarnik effect. The other extreme-excessive selectivity, i.e., the inability to share due to the fact that the level of toxicity is very high – another drop and poisoning. In this case, the aversion is almost everything: "stomach" is full. Another option-splitting, when one of the promiscuous, indiscriminate, and in another to the extreme election.
While a depressed disgust the subject provokes this feeling in others, because it is in the field, but remains undeveloped. In the objective countertransference, the therapist might resent the client that this feeling suppressed. For example, a person growing up in an environment with a horrible smell, its sensitivity to odors reduced, including to its, as a consequence it can strongly unpleasant smell, the surrounding, hearing the smell of it, will react to rejection, what will be the reaction to the lack of sensitivity to odors in the subject.
Disgust – important emotion that supports the integrity of the organism against poisoning, pressure from the inside, because if you have an aversion, it is already partially swallowed a disgusting object, at least at the level of fantasy and identification. Disgust can occur as a reaction to the inability to part with the fun.
