Schema-Therapy is a modern approach to psychotherapy, which at the end of the 80s developed and described by Jeffrey young, a cognitive therapist and a student of the great Aaron Beck (one of the founding fathers of cognitive behavioral therapy). Currently, many therapists say that schema therapy is potentially more effective therapy available. I believe that only a few areas of psychotherapy have similar potential for change in the life of a particular person and couple relationships, creating fertile ground for understanding. br>
Therapy helps people learn about the prerequisites for the emergence of many difficulties in their lives. If such understanding turns out to be bilateral relations, the effectiveness of the tools approach increases, which helps to break the usual scenario of conflict and to abandon the imperfect behaviour. This is important because nowadays, many couples do not recognize and do not even notice the existence of problems between them up to the breakup or divorce. Although in most cases their relationship has a rich history of quarrels and conflicts, slowly eroding them. br>
For schema-therapy is very important is the attention to emotions and childhood or teenage experiences, which is the basis of psychological problems. This approach uses effective equipment, for example, exercises in imagination, the deep study of human beliefs, as well as correction of behavioral patterns. All this leads to more effective communication of the client not only in personal relationships but also in other spheres of the relationship. br>
it is Also very important that if a client request is its relationship with a partner, a significant part of their improvement can be done in individual therapy. After all, when one partner changes, these changes cannot fail to affect the character of couple relationships. br>
Schema therapy allows us to look at past experiences differently and understand how childhood events influenced the human life in the present. Because the action underlying beliefs (schemas) instantly and unconsciously takes an adult to my childhood like a time machine, and he will often react in this situation just as he did as a child. br>
Later I will try to write more about this approach.
